Smoothie Magic
Di HutchisonSeriously delicious and nourishing pots of goodness! The recipe is extremely flexible but the base of mine is always the same. You can make ahead of time so your mornings are smooth too.
Equipment
- 1 Blender or food processor
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp chia seed soaked in 1/2 cup of dairy free milk or water
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 1/2 avocado
- juice and rind of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tbsp MCT oil plus some easy supplements like clean organic protein powder, collagen and greens.
Notes
If you like things a little sweeter (and add more fibre/nutrients) add a teaspoon of organic mesquite powder. I also use whatever is in the fridge such as coconut yoghurt, fermented bananas, spinach, peanut butter, cooked sweet potato, garden-fresh herbs. You can also add some vanilla and cinnamon.
Remember we are looking for protein, fats and fibre to keep us satiated and nourished … as well as something to eat that’s deliciously satisfying! So double the batch and make extra jars- smoothie pots are the ultimate food prep star. Grab out of the fridge when you are ready (they can sit in the fridge for up to a week) and top with some nuts, seeds and beautiful fresh fruit.
